A Whole Life Path: Abiding in Stillness, Engaging with Wisdom

With Gregory Kramer and Jill Shepherd

An Integrated Practice of Insight Dialogue and Vipassana Meditation

Registration to Open in November.

Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to experience a depth of practice that benefits from the strengths of both relational and individual silent meditation.

It has been a long-held wish of Gregory’s to offer a month-long retreat.  He describes it as an opportunity for extending our experience of the meditative qualities that bring the Dhamma alive.  This opens the possibility to “really open the doors to freedom from our own contracted, self-limited views.” Gregory and Jill are currently planning to open the retreat with one week of Insight Dialogue, followed by two weeks of silent Vipassana practice (in which there will only be speaking during short interview sessions) and close with another week of Insight Dialogue.

Attendance for the full length of the retreat is required.  We understand that attending a month-long retreat is not possible for some of you and that a 2-week retreat would be more feasible. This is very helpful information, and we will take this into consideration for a future offering.

Retreat Requirements
The minimum requirement is to have participated in at least:

  • two 7-day Insight Dialogue retreats
  • one 7-day Vipassana silent retreat*
  • one 10-day Vipassana silent retreat*
*Both Insight/Vipassana and Zen silent retreats qualify for the silent retreat requirements. If you have a question about whether a particular silent retreat meets this requirement, please email us.
The above requirements are meant to support your preparedness during an intensive retreat such as this one.  We hope that by announcing this retreat over a year in advance, you will have the opportunity to fulfill these requirements.
Application Process
At registration, you will fill out an application form which will collect information about your retreat history, medical information, and psychological health.  Acceptance into the retreat is subject to approval by the retreat teachers, and may include a brief phone or video interview with Jill Shepherd as part of the application process.  For this reason, please wait until your registration is confirmed before making your travel plans.  This application process should take no longer than one month.
