The Power of Healing Communication – The Enlightenment Factors
Insight Dialogue is an interpersonal meditation practice based on Vipassana meditation. The practice introduces the mindfulness of the traditional silent meditation into interaction with others. This allows us to perceive and understand things we normally overlook in the bustle of our lives and to gain more acceptance for ourselves and others. As humans, we are beings that are related to each other. As we awaken to this experience, insight, clarity, ease, and joy flow into our relationship with others.
During this retreat, we will meditate together – not next to each other – completely connected and truly meditating. We will cultivate mindfulness, calm concentration, investigation, energy and other meditative qualities. It is an opportunity to connect directly with the relationship level of our humanity and come into direct personal contact with the central human experiences. We will be guided step-by-step through the structured meditation practices of Insight Dialogue and Dharma Contemplation, accompanied by periods of silent meditation and walking meditation. These exercises also help us in difficult situations to stay present and steady, to deal more easily with social tensions and anxiety, and to be aware of the conditioned habits.
We will explore the seven factors of enlightenment (Bojjhangas) in this retreat: Mindfulness, investigation, energy, joy, serenity, concentration and equanimity.
Insight Dialogue practice is complemented by the practice of the Dharma Contemplation. Dharma Contemplation is a meditative study practice with wisdom texts, in this case excerpts from the Pali canon, the discourses of the Buddha.
Outside the dialogues, the course is supported by Noble Silence. The retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.
